The quenched flame charred selectively

Without appetite for some dwellings,

Mythologies of the mind were telling,

But no angels dwelt retrospectively.

Abandon your belongings,

We marvel at planes dousing

We must be more than housing

And a vessel for our longing

The article Charred: In Reaction to the LA Wildfire makes a powerful case about the urgency of recognizing wildfires as more than isolated disasters, and I strongly agree with its message. By connecting the devastation in Los Angeles to climate change, human development in fire-prone areas, and the failure of long-term planning, the article highlights the deeper causes behind the tragedy. It reminds us that these fires are not simply natural events, but outcomes shaped by human choices that can be changed. I support the article’s call for resilience and reform, because addressing climate risks, improving land use policies, and investing in safer communities are the only ways to prevent future disasters of this scale.
